We Were Mining the Small Moons of Proxmere Prime

lyrics

We were mining the small moons of Proxmere Prime;
A wild frontier planet the solar wind had swept dry
A dozen dozen rocks in orbits low and wide
their wealth in mineral fissures a Plutonious prize

The twin star radiation left most sensors blurred
but my analyst called attention to something she’d heard
a repeated distress call from the black emerged
the pain in His voice into my memory burned:

Help us
We’re gonna die
Help us
So we did, they spoke the language of a prison ship

A polarised crew decided worth a crack
But lo, we understood it could of been a trap
Radar profile low approach vector mapped
the city sized ship into the moon had crashed and it

Stuck out like a mountain to the vacuum black
Drones and buzzards roamed the salvaged hull and cold heat stacks
Proximity alarm my console buzzed flashed
formation hostile ships up, down, front and back

It's looking pretty cold out there
Why don't you just let me in
Just let me in

Told the pilot hit the thrusters power shields, too
He'll kill us either way I know the stories were true
There’s no defence from death heat seeker missiles flew
Cannot evade but fuck what else could we do?

The first one hit her plating and she screamed as it blew
And the second hit the thrusters so to guidance say adieu
Proxmere’s desert surface taking up our full view
Disastrous re-entry & Thanatos rendezvous

God help us
